Our story · A founder’s perspective
From Los Angelesto Manila.
We built our first Philippine team to solve a problem in our own healthcare business. It became the model that helped us survive—and the foundation of Healthscope.

01 / The Beginning
Care camefirst.
Southern California · Late 2000s
My friend Robert and I ran a Southern California medical equipment business serving people with sleep apnea. With around 200 staff across 26 states, our strength was proactive patient support.
But frequent turnover in accounting kept us hiring and training. Drawing on my experience working in Asia, I began looking to the Philippines for a more stable team.

02 / Expanding
A small team.A big possibility.
Bonifacio Global City · Manila
I flew from Los Angeles to Manila with no local connections. KMC Solutions helped us open a five-person office in Bonifacio Global City and recruit our first IT and accounting staff.
We soon expanded to a 20-person office, built our patient application, and established a lasting accounting team. Oliver, one of those first five hires, went on to become Healthscope’s Country Manager.

03 / Surviving
The team thatkept us going.
McKinley Hill · Manila
Our Philippine Patient Pay team had already raised collections from 15% to 93%. Then Medicare reimbursement changes hit, private insurers followed, and our revenue fell 47% overnight.
To keep the business alive, we moved 80% of our US workforce to the Philippines and shared a 200-seat office in McKinley Hill. It was a difficult transition, but it saved our business and taught us how much culture and training matter.

04 / Thriving
Our experience.Your next chapter.
Ortigas to Angeles City · Philippines
We established our own 120-seat office in Ortigas. In 2020, we sold the medical equipment business to focus on helping other companies build offshore teams, sharing what we’d learned firsthand.
We later expanded to Angeles City for a better quality of life for our employees, grew to 200 seats, and transitioned to remote work during the pandemic. In 2023, we opened a 350-seat office in the Entec 2 Building—another chapter in a business built around its people.
